Christianity vs. ‘christian’ nationalism

We explore why Christian nationalism fundamentally misrepresents Christianity. We discuss how Jesus taught that his kingdom is not of this world and operates by different rules than earthly power. We examine how Christian nationalism inverts this by prioritizing national identity and earthly power over spiritual transformation. We also look at Jesus’s teachings on loving neighbors without borders, Paul’s message that ethnicity doesn’t matter in Christ, and how Jesus modeled servant leadership rather than power-seeking. We conclude that while Christian nationalism is a power project, the gospel is fundamentally a love project.
